We’d be lying if we told you the Forearm Forklift was the only furniture lifting strap worth looking at. Right now there’s basically two lifting straps worth reviewing, the Forearm Forklift and the Shoulder Dolly.
There are a couple of differences between the two worth noting so let’s start with the Shoulder Dolly first off:
The Shoulder Dolly is a serious piece of moving equipment. Not surprisingly the straps are designed to wrap around your shoulders, allowing them to take the whole weight of what you’re carrying.
It’s a bit of a pain in the butt to set up. When it comes to moving, speed is everything. The faster the move can be the better as that’s the real reason why we’d want to use furniture lifting straps right?
The design of the Shoulder Dolly is great as it basically takes the entire weight of the item you’re carrying off your back from what we found. The quality of straps are also top notch and are unlikely to show signs of breaking for a long time after purchasing and it’s ability to carry extremely heavy things is nothing short of amazing.
The Forearm Forklift
You can read more about our tests in our Forearm Forklift Review, but basically for the money you pay(20 bucks) it’s by far the first option most people take to make the moving process easier. They’ve also been referred to as THE movers lifting straps.
For the EXTREMELY heavy items(500+ pounds) they kinda break down and you’re going to start to put some pressure on your back. Most people don’t have to worry about lifting things that heavy though so that’s not too much of a concern.
There’s a couple of positives with these moving lifting straps, the first is the price at $20 which we mentioned before. The second is they’re a lot easier to set up then the Shoulder Dolly and in the long run, that can really make the day a lot more enjoyable. The final positive are the bonuses you get when you purchase them, in particular the extensions you get with it that serious make life a lot easier.
Now we can’t really say anything bad about each of them, but when it comes to the everyday person, it’s pretty clear that the Forearm Forklift is all you need.
If you’re a professional mover(or you have a lot of needy friends!), the go with the Shoulder Dolly. Below you’ll see a price comparison for the two furniture lifting straps as well as links to the cheapest place to order:
You’ll be hard-pressed to find these straps in your local Walgreens or Walmart. From what we’ve found, Amazon has the cheapest price and you can pick it up here -
Forearm Forklift Direct From The Supplier($19.99)
Ok Amazon is selling these straps but WITHOUT the extensions which believe me are the most important part of the whole system. Instead if you buy direct from the supplier, you get a money back guarantee(just in case) plus all the bonuses including the extensions.
We don’t want to tell you to buy them, so we’ve provided a link to the Official Supplier below to get some more information:
